For Your Comfort and Safety

3D Imaging

Before dental implants are placed, Dr. Andrus must precisely identify the location of critical anatomical structures such as nerves and sinuses for your safety.   Our digital 3D imaging system allows this to be done at only a fraction of the radiation of a conventional hospital based CAT Scan.

Before dental implants are placed, Dr Andrus must precisely simulate the appropriate design of you final teeth.  Dr Andrus simulates your final treatment in our on-site dental laboratory before treatment even begins.  This exercise usually reveals information that is key to the success of your treatment.  A template of the final design is used to orient the proper positioning of dental implants into your jawbone.

Sedation

Sometimes anticipation of dental treatment may make you anxious and sometimes it is better to sleep through a procedure and wake up with your new smile.  If this is the case, oral or IV sedation is available to you and may even be suggested by Dr Andrus.  You will receive special instructions if you choose these options for one of your treatment visits and can rest assured that your IV sedation will be performed by a licenced anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist.

Digital X-Rays

Dental X-rays have come a long way. Todays dental X-rays are safer, faster, more comfortable and more informative than the X-rays of years past. Digital X-rays, one of the latest and most advanced dental technologies, produce high-quality images of your teeth that can be viewed instantly by you and your dentist on a LCD monitor. Digital X-rays reduce radiation by up to 90% and provide exceptional diagnostic information to ensure that potential problems are caught in their earliest stages.  Even though the radiation exposure is miniscule compared to years ago, our office still follows the ALARA principle to keep radiation "As Low As Reasonably Acheiviable" for you.

Instrument Sterilization

Our office is equipped with a medical grade autoclave to ensure that every instrument used for your treatment meets the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.  We test monitor the effectiveness regularly.

Intraoral Photography

Dr Andrus utilizes intraoral camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. An intraoral camera allows our practice to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, in order for us to accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you! Digital intra oral cameras also enable our practice to save your images in our office computer to provide a permanent record of treatments. These images can be printed for you, other specialists, and your lab or insurance companies.
